What To Expect
Sometimes visiting a new church is a little intimidating. Here's what you can expect if you attend our worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:30am.:
Worship: Our corporate worship is characterized by praise and honor to God. We focus on celebrating God's love and His holiness. We often say, "Come as you are, but don't stay as you are." Midlothian Church of Christ is a place where you are accepted and loved unconditionally. It's also a place where we challenge each other to learn more about Christ's will for our lives. Practical messages are designed to connect Biblical teaching with everyday concerns in our lives. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, you can find a place to jump in and continue your search to know God better.
Music: Whether we're singing hymns or contemporary praise songs, we encourage everyone to participate. The focus of music is to call everyone into the presence of God and to recognize His greatness and amazing grace. You don't have to have a great voice: just a heart that wants to connect with God.
Communion: We share in communion every Sunday, as a special time to remember and celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ.
Prayer: If you have a prayer need, we would love for you to share it with us on the back of your visitor registration card. You can mark your prayer request as confidential, if you prefer. If you have a more open request, our staff will pray over your request during the week. You are also welcome to come forward at the end of the service so that our church family can pray over you.
Offering: We take an offering each week as an act of worship and to support the ministries of the church. As a guest, you're free to participate, but don't feel obligated to do so. If you complete a visitor attendance card, we urge you to put these cards in the offering plate as they are passed.
What to Wear: You can wear jeans or a business suit, whatever makes you comfortable. We're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. We're a casual community where we like to be real and authentic.
Children's Worship: Every Sunday, we provide children's worship for nursery through 2nd grade, during our adult worship time. The children will be released after several songs, to go back to the Fellowship Hall where they will worship our Lord in a manner that is suited for their needs. Our teachers will care for your children in a kid-friendly atmosphere that is fun, dynamic, and Christ-centered.
