We love to see our kids learn, while putting smiles on their faces. Several ways we do this is by having numerous special events throughout the years.
Fall Parties with Festival Fun - We play games and eat yummy food all while dressed up in our costumes.
Gingerbread Man Hunt - This is the one day out of the year our kids get to RUN all over the school in search for that sneeky Gingerbread Man.
Field Trip to the Senior Citizens Center to deliver homemade cookies and bread. (Everyone bakes, our two oldest classes deliver.) This is such a special time, teaching the blessing of giving.
Thanksgiving Feast - We invite our families to join us for a speical feast where we celebrate family and the blessings God has provided us through the year.
Santa Visit - Santa Clause makes a special trip to Sonshine for pictures with our kids. Each child goes home with a special treat from Jolly Ol' St. Nick!
Christmas Parties - Each class celebrates with their own party. Every student brings a wrapped book for a book exchange, so that everyone goes home with a holiday present.
We begin our Community Helpers Unit when we return from Christmas Break. During this unit we have many different community helpers visit Sonshine to share how important their jobs are. Several of our community helpers include: Police Officer, Fireman, Dentist, Nurse and Chef.
Our two older classes visit a restaurant and grocery store to learn what takes place behind the scenes of these exciting places in our community.
Easter Egg Hunt - Each class will hunt dozens and dozens of eggs filled with candies and treats.
End of the Year Program - We practice for weeks to make our EOY Program special for each and every one. At the end of our program, our oldest students will walk down the isle and across the stage in their cap and gowns as they graduate from Preschool to Kindergarten.
